Songs For The Season and More
Christmas In October
Back in October of 2019, I was preparing to sing with the Alumni of the Women's Choir at Saint Mary's College, Notre Dame, Indiana.
The exciting event was: "Magnificat," to be performed at Carnegie Hall the following March. I distinctly remember that the department store Christmas decorations went up right after Halloween. Now that I'm preparing my Christmas program, I know that early October is not a moment too soon to get my music ready.
I am polishing a list of more than 20 songs, plus more favorites for audience members to sing along with if they like.
Are any of your favorites on this list?
Away In A Manger
Ding Dong Merrily On High
Good King Wenceslas
Hark The Herald Angels Sing
I Saw Three Ships Come Sailing In
In Dulci Jubilo
O Come All Ye Faithful
O Little Town Of Bethlehem
Silent Night
The First Noel
The Holly And The Ivy
The Twelve Days Of Christmas
We Three Kings
We Wish You A Merry Christmas
While Shepherds Watched Their Flocks By Night
I will also sing Adam's, "O Holy Night," and Cherubini's, "Ave Maria."
I am also rehearsing the songs for, "Remember Catherine Hayes," a musical tribute to the famous Irish soprano who made a sensational tour during the California Gold Rush.
